The Trade Policy at Cordial Clove Books Inc.
We are currently CLOSED for book drop offs. Once we have some more capacity in our shop, we will reopen and post about it on our business website and social media accounts.
***************************************************************
It often happens that we will have to set the books aside for a day or two before we can review and advise of your store credit or cash amount.
For books that we aren't able to accept, we prefer to place them in free little libraries or donate in your place rather than storing them here for pick up later. However, we do have that option available if it is your preference. We would only ask that you please come back to get them swiftly, as we do not have unlimited storage.
Book Condition
-Books should be clean and in like-new or very good condition. Though we love the smell of used books like you do, we try very hard not to carry musty, dusty, ripped, smoky, or water damaged books.
-We are currently not able to accept text books, encyclopedias, books with annotating or highlighting or condensed Reader's Digest. We also do not take magazines.
-Wiping down, dusting and removing stickers from your books is really thoughtful and increases their desirability. Don't forget to check inside for forgotten family photos, booksmarks and other paperwork. You would be surprised what we find inside books that come in (and we always try to return where we can!)
Trade Value
-Trade value for store credit or cash is at the discretion of Cordial Clove Books. We consider factors such as publication date, condition, current stock and more.
-Value for rare or out of print books will be determined at the discretion of Cordial Clove Books.
-Please note that store credit has no cash value.
Buying Books with Credit
-The credit you accumulate by trading in your old books can be used for up to 50% of any purchase of used books.
-Credit can only be applied to used book purchases and will not apply to the purchase of new books or non-book merchandise.
